Pink pads lightly kissed the ground as a slim, colorful female briskly trotted along a narrow pathway. Her long slithering tail trailed behind her, shifting back and forth. Long strides took up much ground, with graceful movements and as quiet as a mouse. Apollo, a bright Egyptian wolf who yearned for the forest and to leave behind the hot sand of the Egyptian plains. The feel of the cool dirt sunk between her claws, like soft mud. A smile pressed against her maw contently as she passed by, minding her own business.
The scent of a wolf overcame her nostrils and she perked her ears forward, flickering them back and forth. Stopping, she took in a deep breathe, the sunlight was warm on this cool Spring day. The crimson colored jewel embedded into her forhead shimmered from the reflecting sunlight happily. Apollo danced around, trotting at a jumpy pace, she looked around, taking in all the beautiful scenery. The scent of the same wolf overcame her again, cocking her head she continued along a strange bordeline.
Apollo's eyes widened, what stood infront of her looked gloomy, and depressing. A narrow, ghastly trail lay darkly infront of her. Leafless trees hung low with their branches sprawled out, dangling and sharp looking. What lay beyong this trail? She did not know, but a sense of curiosity overcame her. The trees which looked somewhat burnt reminded her of a large fire, which happened in her childhood many years ago. All she could see was her and her brother running away, vowing never to return.
Apollo shook her head, trying to erase the horrid memories which haunt her day by day. A last glance into the trail pushed her forward, whispering into her ear. 'Go!' it spoke quietly, 'Go and be free' it said again. This strange voice in her head seemed decieving but she shrugged, walking over the marked borderline of the terra and into the dark woods. Something told her to leave, and another voice told her to stay and keep going.
She perked her ears as she noticed a shout, momentary scream coming from a distance. Followed by a ghostly howl which erupted into the quiet air and into her delicate ears. She winced and glanced over to a shadowy figure, what was it? Obviously she wasn't going to stick around and find out, dashing off deeper into the Trail. Heavy breathing emitted from her maw as she ran faster, not wanting to look back to see. A small drop off lay ahead of her, not knowing she jumping a fraction of a second to late and she plunged to the bottom.
Moments later she stood up, scowling at the pain in her right forpaw. "Great..." she murmered sarcastically, any second now some wolf will come running towards her, snarling and growling. Could this get any worse?

A life that knows no bounds: Shadow Paw
The sunlight was warm, the suns great rays shinning down on the world like a mother wolf caressing her pups. A small black female with equally small black feathered wings laid sprawled on a flat rock that would look to a human, if only they were still around, like a pedestal but the black female wolf did not know that term, but instead called in the the raised rock. Not very creative, eh? But than again she wasn't the creative type when it came to naming things even though she excelled in her creativity in other subjects. She watched the world through pale gray eyes which gazed around lazily, taking in her new found territory. There was no better feeling than surveying land and knowing it was yours- there was no greater pride besides having offspring.
Inside her mind she roamed, watching herself from afar as she ran her trails chasing prey, more wolves chasing single file behind her, two more wolves waiting ahead blocking the path, one more on each side ready to ambush. Oh how alive she say herself to be, how her eyes gleamed with a hunters intent, her body strong, her pack strong. Yet this was all a day dream, her deep desire to have a strong, large pack- but not too large. It was tree she wanted them to be large but ominous things always followed large packs and they normally drove away what ever large prey was in their territory. Twelve, she decided, was a good number. Not too large and not too small but large enough to fend off any evading packs, small enough to keep everyone fed.
The small black female blinked, her pale eyes rising to look into the sky before stifling a yawn. She was not a day creature, the afternoon sun was too hot to run it, it made you too dehydrated, too tired. Morning and evening where her best times and she normally slept the afternoon away until the sun started going down, only get up now and than to patrol her land or catch some animal. However, today wouldn't be a lazy day as she would find out momentarily which was good- it prevented her from getting soft, getting fat and lazy (getting fat was the job of the old and of pups not someone in their prime), from withering in her own mind. Black ears stood erect; listening. Something was off, a new scent was in the area making a low deep growl escape her which sounded so out of place and too loud in the quietness of the noon.
One thing she could not stand for was trespassing when a wolf could tell quite clearly she had marked off this land as hers, and hers alone- she shared it so far with no one. However, that meant another pack could come in and easily steal it which spurred her into action. If this was an intrusion she would fight to the death unless a different opportunity revealed itself to her which she would take. 'Whoever this is, will pay unless I find their intentions "good", well not good but having an interest to join. However they better give me a damn good impression after barging in unwelcomed.' Her eyes narrowed and she added another thought that was accompanied with a toothy grin, 'Or they better have a high spirit to live so I don't kill them on the spot.' She'd do it, Shadow (for that was her name), would do it without a second thought. This intruder was not pack, it did not have romma- the pack scent. A wolf had to carry the packs romma to be counted as an equal and the older you where the harder it was to be accepted here unless she say no threat and only submissiveness which, not many wolves liked to show.
Suddenly she leaped majestically into the air, landing on the ground with out a sound, her small paws carrying her into the shadows where she than called upon her powers to bring her to the intruder. The shadows did her bidding, they listened. The shadows engulfed her body like a snake would eat a small rodent until every one of her feature was gone. However she had movement, she could control where she went but it was as if she was one with the shadows and no one would even know she was there because she made no noise, left no scent, could not be seen- she was virtually invisible.
Her travel probably only took seconds with the speed of a straight connecting line leading her to the new scent but the travel seemed like hours because to her time slowed down so she could take everything in and analyze it all carefully. When she stopped she found herself high in a tree looking down at a small drop off of the earth. In the drop off was a wolf of many bright colors that Shadow looked away for a moment before focusing again. The wolf was obviously female, she was a little lanky, or she was just on the larger size and quite slender. Either way it didn't matter, with a build like that she was probably fast. So far the impression was good. It wasn't so good that on a closer inspection it seemed to her that the younger wolf fell into the "hole", meaning she had not been paying attention. What struck out the most was the females green eyes, not her colorful pelt (she had seen some crazy colorings before, mind you).
Shadow dropped right in front of the young female wolf, her body still concealed by the shadows. Here she had the advantage: it was her turf, she was older, and the whole entire forest was engulfed in shadows- she could be anywhere in a matter of seconds. Good luck catching her then. Her form started to materialize out of what seemed like thin air, her body forming slowly so she could see her reaction, her pale eyes of fog giving away no emotion. "Plus jeune," She said which translated into younger one though she did not expect her to know that. "I am Shadow-Paw the alpha of these lands!" Her voice was high and pure like a bell but the power, the dominance her in voice was clear. The very fur on her flanks and neck where up on end, she was stiffed legged with her lips drawn back and her long tail held high. "You will stay where you are and tell me your name, age and why I should not kill you right now." She wasn't bluffing, she had a cold murders heart and she'd do it. If a suitable answer was given she would press harder- only if she wanted to join her pack. If not she would chase her away...

Apollo starred at the developing figure, producing its own lims and fur before her very eyes, taking its original shape. A slim black female stood before her, a gloomy look in her eyes told Apollo to just walk away. But she stood there, starring at the Alphess with widened eyes. She said something, but it seemed to be in a different tongue. This language...she did not understand? Although she only spoke of two words, they were confusing and the thought shuffled around in her mind for many seconds. More words came from the female, but this time Apollo could comprehend and a deep sigh released from her maw.
"My name is Apollo" she greeted, dipping her head slightly with respect. "It seems I have accidentally wandered into this gloomy place" she said glancing around the scenery. Although she knew it wasn't an accident, something insider told her to come in. Whispering into her ear as if it stood next to her 'Go' it said 'Go and be free'. But what did this mean? Starring off into a deep daydream she shook her head, "Uh...." she paused. What was she supposed to say? That some figmint of her immagination was telling her to come into someone else's terra and be free? Not likely!
"I...I guess I want to join this pack...?" Apollo questioned outloud to herself, still replying to the Alphess though. She looked hard at the black female, cocking her head to one side in curiosity. "I have nothing else to say" she said simply, looking away with concern. A frown crossed her face, as she thought about the consequences would be for listening to that stupid voice in her head. She curled her tail around her paws comfortable, giving a fake smile. The only thing that traveled through her mind was 'Go, and be free' over and over again. Rolling around in her mind. 'Go' it said again 'Go and be Free'.

A life that knows no bounds: Shadow Paw
The whole time her small rigid body began to materialize from the shadows, their loving grip gently letting go of her; a small sadness overcoming her as its touch left her. She was a creature of the shadows- she was even named after them. She was a creature of the night, of the darkness and her eyes, her heart, her personality reflected that very strongly- it was hard not to tell she was a damned, that she was doomed to rot in Hell for all eternity when she died; if they believed in such places of course. When she died her body would probably never return back to the good Earth, her remains would probably be rejected- no animals but the lowest of the low would eat her flesh for it would singe with distaste. However, was she as bad as she was cracked up to be, was she taking everything for granted or riding high on a horse thinking herself superior?
"Plus jeune," Shadow repeated herself when she say the confusion distort the females dace, "means younger one." Something changed, her voice wasn't quite as rash and harsh but more leveled and even. So far, besides trespassing, she had done nothing wrong and she was doing what she asked, she was answering her questions. The moment the female said her name was Apollo her large black ears flicked with interest, more interested now. Slightly her own muzzle opened but no words came out because she started speaking again, but she was hesitant, unsure of her own answers. Unsure like a pup even though she was old enough to be on her own, to breed, to lead a pack of her own. It was the last two items that bothered her. Accepting a full grown female would be okay if it wasn't for the thought of males coming too, but the last one. This female could challenge her position, take it from her even! That, she would not let happen.
Yet there was some innocence about her that made Shadow calm a little, allowing her to draw her lips back down over her teeth though she still kept a rigid stance. "Apollo, I will accept that answer." Her words shocked even herself but she understood. Sometimes she herself found herself just walking, not knowing where she was going but had the feeling she was being drawn there by some force. She was cruel, but she wasn't stupid- she wouldn't allow a fine, healthy wolf to get away when she needed members. What she could not get her mind around was that Apollo found this place so gloomy while she found it so enchanting.
The darkness provided shadows everywhere for her to work her power, it was always nice and cool and a splendid place to hunt and to lose someone who was on your trail. "les Habitués, that is your rank if I accept you." She said, her look stern, "les Habitués- it is what every member starts as; it is not a rank. To earn a rank you must prove worthy of one." She looked her over, her small paws stepping lightly as she danced around Apollo before stopping in front of her again, her long tail shifting back and forth, "I must know, do you have a power- do not tell me out loud, show me in anyway you can what it is." Apollo, she knew, was uncomfortable about this situation but she could not blame her, but she did not like the smile that seemed forced. Now she had to wait and see.

Apollo thought for a while, the female seemed to be at ease at the moment. The tension through her body calmed down a tad, as she took a sigh of relief. Then, something shot through her brain like a torpedo, and an imaginary lightbulb appeared over her head. With widened eyes she gave a half smiled. "First, you must give me your name?" she asked politely. Of course, she needed to call this Alphess something other name 'female'.
A look of concern crossed Apollo's face for a moment, there was something about this Alphess that seemed alittle odd. She unwound her tail and began flickering it in the air. It was something, but she couldn't quite pur her tongue on it. For one thing, they were completely the opposites of eachother, besides color. Face expressions and body language seemed to be communicating, but in a different sense. The tension went back to it's original ease as Apollo dropped the thought.
As the Alphess interpreted the unknown word she had said earlier Apollo simply nodded, but said nothing. Simply because her knowlegde in foreign languages was limited. Another foriegn word seemed to slip from the Alphess' maw and Apollo cocked her head in puzzlement. She had spoken of her ranking, and then said it was as normal as any other regular pack member. If she only hoped this wierd language would end, but all she could do was nodd and keep smiling.
The mention of powers seemed to revive her back to life from this lifeless conversation. Apollo knew that she had mastered her power skillfully over the years, so she knew and hoped that this Alphess wouldn't be dissapointed. A simple greedy smile overtook her face as she raised her right forpaw into the air. Her eye was upon a large boulder in the background, only a few feet away from them. Slowly but surely the boulder began to rise off from the ground, she carefully moved it into another spot and dropped it to the ground.
Setting her paw down she now focused on a large pile of leaves, laying quietly undernieth a large tree. It didn't take much focus and she managed to raise them in the air, floating them over to the Alphess. Apollo narrowed her eyes and swept the leaves around the Alphess like a tornado, gently but swiftly. Swirling around like a green mess.

A life that knows no bounds: Shadow Paw
The female seemed to be calming down, seemed to becoming less tense which was good. Apollo than politely asked for her name making Shadow smile. She had been waiting for her to ask and began to wonder if she ever would or now. "I am Shadow, Apollo, alpha female of the Pine Trail's Pack." Her small black cranium dipped in a small nod, only to be brought up to full height again to examine Apollo once more. So far the female seemed healthy and strong and those were her two biggest concerns.
Carefully she was observing Apollo, especially her facial features which a look of concern crossed again. Whatever the female was thinking she was sure she did not want to know, it was probably something so trivial anyway. Like Apollo however, she too noticed how they were almost polar opposites which was making Shadow second guess herself if she should allow this female into her pack. No, it did not matter if they were opposites- as long as Apollo did not challenge her, broke no pack laws that should be programed into the head of every wolf, and as long as she followed directions and got along well with whatever members where sure to come than there would be no need for her to worry. It was hard though, accepting a female that was close to her age; it went against what she had been taught so many years ago.
"I can tell you do not like that language- there is no hiding it from me younger one." Shadow said, her voice soft as she gazed upwards. "However I must speak of them once more. There are three positions you must know. First would be the rank you would hold which I have told you already. Second is my position, the alpha, called L'alpha. That one should be easy enough. The second rank you should know is Le Béta, the betas of the pack." With that she lowered her head again, her eyes shinning a little bit as she once again envisioned a fairly large and strong pack, envisioned taking over the other lands...
Carefully Shadow watched as a large grin overcame Apollo, watched as her body gained more energy, watched as she lifter one of her paws. At first Shadow did not know what the female was doing and she was close to cocking her head to the side in puzzlement when she looked around and saw a large boulder being hauled into the air, the rock flying through the air to another position before dropping. Next a pile of leaves was levitated in the air and before she knew it she was surrounded by a whirlwind of green leaves. She tried to contain her gleeful laughter but she could not. This was most excellent, so many plans flew wildly through her head as she thought about right than and there giving her a higher position if she brought her into the pack.
Suddenly she stepped forward, cutting through the leaves. Her slender muzzle opened and she placed hers over Apollos and held that position for a few seconds before stepping back. That simple action meant she was pack now, that she now belonged here. However, that action is also used to cool the nerves of young wolves, especially under the age of a year. "I offer you a position in my pack, will you accept?" Her pale emotionless eyes looked at Apollo, her mind still racing. "I will also give you the choice as staying a regular, or becoming a hunter. The choice is up to you." With that said she grew silent, holding in her breath as she awaited the answer.

Apollo siezed the moment in her mind, her second thoughts upon this Alphess were starting to fade as she gained a burst of confidence. 'Shadow' she repeated to herself, "What a lovely name" she replied giving a nod. Scanning over of what seemed to be her future leader started to get her thinking. Shadow was a black wolf, she was not. Shadow had a rather emotionless look to her, she did not. Shadow almost seemed aggressive at first, and she did not. Apollo shrugged at the thought, they were opposites, completely different. Their thoughts and beliefs were also probably different, yet they were getting along?
She starred at Shadow as she talked about some other ranks which would probably be important for her to remember in the future. "It is not that I do not like this language" Apollo continued "it is that my not understanding puzzles me". The language itself was fine with her, although it being spoken was rather bothersome. Oh well, she'll have to learn it one day or another. Apollo listened carefully as the Alphess spoke of two other ranks. 'L'Alpha' and 'L'Beta', those seemed easy enough to remember. She gave a short smile, not a fake smile, but a real smile.
The display of her powers almost seemed to overwhelm the Alphess. As Apollo dropped the leaves to the ground she glanced at Shadow walking towards her. She raised a brow slightly, waiting to see what she would do. For right now she new confidently that Shadow would not strike down on her, nor did she seem she would banish her away. Apollo looked to the ground and flattened her ears, not to her skull but facing them towards the ground at a sideways angle, sticking out from upon her head. It was just 'her' was of saying, 'tell me what you want'. The speaking of staying a Regular Member or being a Hunter excited her. She loved to hunt of course, but so did most of the entire wolven population.
Her heart skipped a beat, what would she choose? Hunter of course, no doubt skipped through her mind once and she gradually gained a smile. "Well" she said looking upwards and then glancing back to Shadow "Hunter position would be lovely". A wide grin pressed against her maw, she would not let this newly formed pack down. Although there were only two members, it would soon fill up. Although one concerning thought crossed her mind, why such a Rank? and for what reason would she deserve this? Apollo thought about it for a few seconds and then opened her mouth "But why would I deserve such a rank as this?" she questioned politely.
To be a Hunter would please her, now being a higher superior than someone just joining the pack. To boss another being around made her smile. She went into deep thoughts, entering into a slight daydream before resuming back to earth and awaiting the Alphess' reply.

A life that knows no bounds: Shadow Paw
Shadow returned Apollo's nod after she said she held a nice name, which she guessed it was, she just knew that it fit her. The flashes of the pack she was wishing for still played freshly in her mind giving her an even more distant look than she had already; this time her visions on Apollo. She could see the younger wolf sitting ahead on the trail the rest of the pack was heading down, two wolves on each side of Apollo ready in case she was to fail. There she would concentrate when the prey came into view either slowing it down or doing something else with it that would allow the pack to get it with ease. Never, would they go hungry in the winter. Of course she didn't know if Apollo could do something like that, this was just her little fantasy.
Once more she smiled as Apollo talked about the strange language. "Do not worry about it. I do not speak in sentences in it, only my ranks and a few words are spoken in it. Most of them are fairly easy like L'Alpha, which I think is very simple since it has the word alpha in it." It was true that she hardly ever spoke that language and she only spoke in sentences when she was mad, wanted to vent but didn't want the others to figure out what she was saying. It was fairly handy too, many times she drove wolves when she was alone by yelling at them in it making them think she was crazy. It took a moment to realize she had just seen Apollo give a real, true smile. Where her own real, or where they fake? Even she did not know.
She had to admit she was acting so odd, she was being nice- a word she hardly knew. Yet there was something she saw in her, something that reminded her of her old self before she created the female who stood before Apollo today, someone so different, completely opposite than she was years ago. Right when her slender black muzzle opened to speak Apollo asked a question and Shadow had to suppress her growl as she made herself listen since how was the other female suppose to know she was going to say something. She asked about why she deserved such a position and in reply Shadow gave a mischievous grin, her eyes twinkling in delight. "Just trust me on my decision Apollo as I am going to trust you." Her voice was light, almost soft as she looked her over with dancing eyes. "Besides, shouldn't my first member hold a higher rank than the ones who will join shortly. Prove yourself to me and the rewards will be great." Of course she had other reasons she made Apollo a hunter, mainly because of her wants for the pack but it went deeper than that. Maybe it was because she had not lashed out at her yet, that she had no need to discipline, that she reminded her of her old self. She also doesn't like to those who are pack, she may leave things out- yes, but never lie unless she had to. If she was worthy, if she could prove she had will, spirit, and knowledge a higher position would be opened up to her.
"Well, since you are now a member of this pack, Plus jeune- Apollo, you may explore at your leisure. Memorize the landscape, know every trail and know my scent and the scents of the wolves who will soon be pack. Know who is not suppose to be here. This is your home, you need to protect it. Since it is the two of us we can hunt for ourselves but when we get more members we will hunt as a group every two to three days or more depending on our supply." Again her body began to dissolve though she wasn't leaving, she was just moving away a little bit so when she reappeared she was four feet away and sitting down on her haunches. Apollo could now either go on her way or she was free to stay here with her and talk or ask questions. She was pack, she was deemed worthy.

Apollo starred at the ground for many moments before looking back to Shadow. Her question was answered, but it did not have the answer she was looking for. Shrugging, she stood up, shaking off the dirt which clung onto her pelt. Her long narrow tail did not resemble Shadow's tail, nor did it resemble any wolf's tail she had met. She simply starred at it, glancing over to the Alphess' tail and then back to hers. Apollo narrowed her eyes for a second, she didn't know why she looked so different. Different breeding perhaps? But throughout all the wolves she and her brother had seen, none looked as different as her. Oh well, maybe different was a good thing?
None the less, she didn't really pay attention too much. Besides, her tail was quite useful in many ways. Apollo took a few steps forward, examining all the scenery, picking out different landmarks for her to remember this place by. Although, the memory of herself falling into that dreaded dropoff was enough of a landmark to remember this spot. Maybe exploring wouldn't bee so bad, but just leaving radomly seemed alittle rude, even though she offered for her to leave. Apollo watched as the Alphess moved herself a few feet away, farther than before.
This was most defenitely an akward position she was in. Looking at the ground again she decided to make the best of a conversation and took a few steps forward, sitting back down. She wrapped her tail around her front paws tightly and held her breathe. "Why do you call me 'Young One'?" she asked curiously "I am but merely only 1 Moon younger than you, am I not?" she paused for a moment. Hoping the Alphess wouldn't get too angry for questioning her authority. Maybe she should have just left, without saying a word and all would have been well. But of course, her big mouth just had to open.
The thought of her brother made her wonder, where was he? Did he find a pack? was he ok? All these questions piled into her head, so many unsanswered questions was bound to not be good for the brain. The thought of him being dead made her quiver, or maybe he just left without saying goodbye? This thought just made her sad and uneasy. But pushing the thought away and moving onto more important things she settled her gaze onto Shadow. Awaiting her response.

A life that knows no bounds: Shadow Paw
Shadow watched Apollo in silence. Honestly, she didn't have much more to say to her only because she didn't get along with other females too well. Which, was why this meeting surprised her. Normally she would have chased her away or she would have just left. Yet this situation was different and she could not say why. Maybe, she was getting soft, getting soft from her years of solitude and maybe she was being like this because she felt like any moment Apollo would vanish and she would wake up from her dream. Yes, that must be it, she was afraid this wasn't real, that this was made up, a dream meant to torture her.
After moments of silence Apollo stepped towards her and sat down just like they were before and asked a question. This time, Shadow did not have to hold back a growl. Her long black tail flicked back and forth as she thought about how to answer Apollo. Of course she knew why she called her younger one but how could she put it into words? Silently she folded her tail around her paws like Apollo had done, her long claws dug into the earth in concentration. Normally wolves did not stay around long enough to even ask her any questions but no, not Apollo. She had given her an excuse to leave she Apollo would not have to put up with her, put up with what she might expose of the demon she was holding back.
"I suppose," Shadow said pondering for a moment. "I call you that out of habit. True you are seemingly younger than me by about four and a half seasons but you are still younger, no?" Yes, that did not answer Apollo's question and shadow knew that. Basically she was holding back, she didn't like getting into her personal thoughts or her ways but she felt obligated to tell her. "You see, where I grew up the alpha always called anyone who was younger than them by a year- year and a half they called them younger one. If they were older than them by a year or so they called them older one. So I guess you could say it was a habit I had picked up from them that I probably should stop. This place, is too different than my homeland." Okay, she saw that as a suitable answer for now because that was the only thing she could think of to say on that matter.
Well, she figured to herself, it probably wouldn't do any harm to ask her a question either, right? It would be like bonding, even though she hated the thought. It was good to have allies, wolves you could confide in. Maybe not now but maybe in the near future they could be like that. "Will you answer me a question." It was not a question she asked but more of a statement. "What is the climate like where you are from originally?" Shadow was strange, she didn't like asking personal questions about others but the way Apollo looked intrigued her though she was loathsome to admit it. Still, she could not get over the fact about how opposite they were. However, she told her mind to stop thinking about such things.
She couldn't just give it up and think nothing, she had to replace it with other thoughts so they fell on Kohl, her elder half brother. She had heard a rumor that someone had spotted a wolf that met his description but she hoped her source was faulty. Blinking back the rage she felt for him she calmed herself since thinking about him always made her heart rate jump high. Kohl wanted to kill her, yet he said she intoxicated him which she thought was a little strange. Yet she wanted to kill him as much as he. No, this wasn't the time to think about such things so she closed her mind and waited for Apollo again.

"I see" Apollo replied simply. For her question was answered, and it was as answered as it was going to get. Besides, questioning an Alpha too many times could cause barriers between their new ...friendship? If you could call it that. She decided to move ontwards with her thoughts instead of worring about what would happen next. To her, she though the female was abit resitricted in what she was saying. Almost as if she had something else she wanted to share with the world, but couldn't because of her own reasons. It definitely wouldn't hurt to ask, but why would she? Apollo just nodded as if it were a second response. Both, seemed to be tied off into their own world.
Apollo cleared her throat, for she was about to open her maw and say something else. But she quickly closed it shut, for Shadow was going to ask her something now. How was the weather where she came from? Apollo pondered with that thought for a minute. "Well..." she started "I come from the desert, if you know what that is" she stated kindly. "It is a place of hot, sandy plains which stretch on for miles and miles at a time" Apollo paused, regaining her thoughts about her home place. "It was always hot, the sand would scortch your paws until the blisters grew large and popped" (Eww). The thought about blisters made her nose wrinkle.
"Me and my brother once lived in a grand palace, we were royalty" she said pridefully, but then regreted ever saying it and shut her maw. "ehh..nevermind" Apollo stopped the story and gave a sigh. Her brother had been gone for so long, and now that she reminded herself again about him she crossed a look of concern. She needed to go looking for him soon, but soon may turn into days, and days may turn into weeks. Maybe it would have been better if they had stayed back in Egypt.
But then again, the memories of the hot sun made her turn her nose up. A frusterative look depressed over her face and she looked away from the Alphess in shame. She knew she shouldn't have stopped in the middle like that but she couldn't help it. Apollo just wanted to leave, and go explore like her first intention was of doing. She stood up, gave a polite nod to Shadow and waited for her response.
Before any words could have been said, or so it seemed a faint noise echoed from the distance. It was the howl of a mighty creature, standing at the borders of the terra. Something familiar about this noise struck her and kept in her mind as the seconds went by. Apollo narrowed her eyes and swung her head back to see if she could see anything. The forest was too dense for her liking and alas, she could not see a thing. A corse scent flailed into her nostrils and she breathed in, the scent almost smelled like...her brother! Oh..her brother had been gone forever! Could it be? Must she wait for the Alphess' assurence to go ahead?

The desert, a place she had never been, never observed before, never even glanced from a distance. That was one goal in her life before dying- to see a desert, to feel the scorching sand beneath her paws and feel the sun beat down on her exposed body. So the moment Apollo began to speak of such a place Shadow began to envision herself herself but she could never come up with a great image. Most of the wolves she knew who had come from the desert did so to escape its fiery wrath but she wasn't sure about Apollo.
Royalty?
[[Eh, still not done]]
