A life that knows no bounds: Shadow Paw
Blood flowed so easily from the soft fleshy tissue of the stag, tainting all around it. A cry of pain and anguish arose into the air from the dying creature. It's heart was strong and it wasn't giving up easily- just like its predator wanted. The hunter did not want it to be over quickly and painlessly, no the hunter would rather toy with it, watch it struggle to hold onto life to stay in the pathetic world of the living. For some reason or another, the stag running and crying out, urged the hunter on faster and faster at its heels. A whirl-wind of dead and fallen leaves was created as the two figures ran along a path which was being splattered in blood.
Long and sharp talons clicked in a continues rhythm as they kept hitting the stone underneath. A long, slick, and fluffy tassel swayed behind the hunter in satisfaction and eagerness. Voids of fog, which held no emotion, stared relentlessly at its fleeing target. Everything in the world didn't matter anymore, it was just her and the stag and she was going to win for that was the way of life; predator and prey. Slender and well muscled pillars of a small and lean black female bent back and locked like a loaded spring. Instantly, that spring was unlocked, sending a wolf arching into the air above a struggling creature. Although she was not heavy, the stag buckled under her.
Lethal weapons hit home; directly into the neck. A lovely red liquid flowed now from both neck and hind quarters and in the mind of the female; Shadow Paw, it was a sweet and "beautiful" thing to see. For one to fall to the superior was always a great thrill. Growing bored of the thrashing deer, she went to end it with one malicious bite to the airway. Things however, didn't go as planned. Something sounded and caught her attention making her look away, her concentration vanished as quickly as it had come and it gave the injured stag enough time to escape. As soon as she felt her stomach hit the ground she knew what happened and the most angry growl escaped from the back of the throat as her eyes shot up the path to see that despite its injuries it had gotten far, that all she could see was the trail of blood it left behind. It was severely injured but it could live.
The noise that had caught her attention was stone hitting against stone not twenty feet away. With a sigh her black agile began to weave through the forest away from the trail trying to find the source of the sound. When she reached the edge of the thicket she once again came to a path but it was long overgrown but she could tell it was one. Slowly sh lifter her gaze up and saw the remains of a human structure from years past, its foundation and walls crumbling. Never before had she been here so she was intrigued by this man-made wonder and before she knew it she found herself sniffing around its base, her pale eyes tracing the lines of where the blocks met each other.
Finally, she lost interest and began to look for a nice flat rock. she found one a few feet away that was oval shaped and low to the ground that was being basked in light. So there, she decided to sit down and take a small nap until the heat of the afternoon was over and the wonderful night greeted her with its caressing coolness...
This peacefully seeming female, Shadow, had a heart as black as her charcoal pelt and felt no feelings towards anyone. Lies. Her life was full of them; just like everyone else even if they have never realized it. Make-believe was a perfect word she used to describe herself around others. She was in their minds, perfect, but only because she was making it seem that way. So many tried to court her, and so many failed as they followed her on her quest to find a home. A shiver went down her spine as she awoke hours later, the sun setting, a different smell in the air.

The great ball of fire lingering high in the sky began to drop, casting playful shadows on the ground and the leaves began to sway and dance playfully with the light breeze. Immense, sturdy paws led the way as the Egyptian male ventured upon these unknown lands, his gold-dipped talons clicking and clattering softly underneath him.
His nostrils flared widely and his senses were overwhelmed with the scent of another wolf. In an instant, he became alert and guarded, his ears perked upward. It had been miles since he had caught the scent of another, especially his own kind. The jewelry that draped over his frame began to jingle and jangle as his steps were increased in length and his pace in speed.
It was in an unrecognizable instinct that most humans lacked that led him to the female. Khai’s head cocked to the left, his muzzle lowering with it. Surely the female was a stranger to him--it was evident that he would have to approach with complete and utter caution. The male was only mere yards away from the female and from here he figured he was at a safe enough range. Ruby orbs examined her every inch and centimeter, taking in her appearance, only store it in his memory. Khai was nearly convinced she had heard him either by his jewelry or the scent persisting in the atmosphere.

A life that knows no bounds: Shadow Paw
Pale gray eyes stared into the darkening sky, her vision still blurred form sleep. Images danced across her mind in a whirlwind of colors that even she herself did not know what she was thinking, what she was seeing. The only image she could identify was the bleeding stag lying under her body, its breathing labored and coming in short gasps with its eyes wide in fear as it realized its life was coming to an end. As quickly as she saw it it disappeared, vanished, making Shadow look up and open her eyes as she realized that once again, she had fallen asleep.
It wasn't until now that Shadow noticed she was even remotely hungry; her stomach empty- its acids eating away at her stomach making her cringe as it digested everything it touched. Her moist nose and large black ears twitched slightly as she tried to sense if anyone or anything was nearby. Perhaps if she was not so groggy she would have noticed the the scent of the other wolf nearby. Never before had she ever been so completely oblivious to her surroundings like this before. Silently she yawned but not before stretching out her long muscular limbs, her body lifting off from the rock making her underbelly go cold as the rock no longer gave her anymore warmth which so so badly desired.
Warily she glanced around, her eyes falling on the old ruins of the building built so many decades ago by human kind whom no longer walked the Earth for beasts of the wild had taken over. Shadow startled as another piece of rock fell from the ancient building but the loudness of it allowed her to collect her mind and become aware of her surroundings again. All of a sudden the hair on her flanks and the back of her neck flared out out as her noise took in the scent of another wolf nearby, her acute hearing able to hear the others steps and the slight jingling of jewelry. Out of habit and instinct she drew back her lips to reveal her large teeth and lifted her long tail high to make herself look as big [that was impossible, she was just way too small to look large] and mean as possible.
If there was one thing she knew it was that this was a season for breeding and there was no denying she was in heat and because of that she did not want to be taken advantage of especially because she was small and could easily be overpowered. "I know you are out there Sir. Please, show yourself instead of lurking in the growth of the Earth." Contrary to her semi-aggressive posture hr voice was smooth, clear, and soft like a soothing bell. Her lean black body was tense still but she no longer bared her fangs. There was probably a good 70% chance that she could out run the mysterious male cloaked in darkness.
Again, she yawned, unable to help herself as she averted her gaze quickly to to she sky to see the sun falling behind the hills and a sliver of the moon pushing its way into the sky...

Abhi was lying on a rock, looking at the female. He had never liked to meet anyone, he didn't even like anyone else. He stood up and thought to himself, "I should practice flight." Abhi spread his wings and jumped into the air, as he did the leaves on a near by tree seemed to blow in the gust of wind he had made. Dust from the ground spread out everywhere in a storm like motion. As he crept farther and farther into the air, he had noticed the second of his kind. He of course didn't like the site. He was not paying attention and smacked into the wall. His muzzle started to bleed as if he had just had his mouth bitten by another. "I have got to start paying more attention he thought to himself. "I shall go down and say hi, since I have nothing better to do. So with out further ado he swept down with quickness and landed right in front of the female. His legs buckled from the landing. He had never been good at flight. He looked up and into the eyes of her and spoke. "Ello" He said to her with satisfaction in his voice.
