History
Hundreds of years ago, the Native Americans believed in spirits, but they called them Talismans. These spirits guided them and helped them throughout their life, first coming to them in their dreams, revealing themselves. Soon, when their body was ready, they showed them how to morph into their animal form. In animal form, a human takes on every characteristic of the animal, the attuned sense of smell, the sharp eyesight and sensitive hearing, as well as the physically abilities. However they still retain the mental being of that person. Years later, the Native Americans died out, and in their place were the white men.
One white man in particular, his name unknown, began destroying the land, living in hate. The spirits of the Indians in the heavens and stars had to do something. They gave him a Talisman and the power to manipulate the Earth's elements, fire, water, earth and air. His Talisman, a bear, tried to guide him to use those powers for good. But the man was too obsessed with his new found ability. He abused them and wrecked even more havoc on the land. The Indians were stunned, so they then sent more Talisman to other people, however they did not give them the power of the Earth's elements; hoping that their good could conquer his evil. Over time, all of the white man's offspring retained his power of the elements while everyone else only had their Talisman. However not all of his offspring used their powers for evil...
Today
Over the hundreds of years, these Talismans gradually evolved to be part of us - almost genetically. You are born with your spirit by your side but would not learn what it was until you have matured and it believed you were ready. Then it would appear in your dreams to guide you and to someday allow you to transform at will into their animal form. The day your Talisman reveals its form in your dream you are known as an innocent. Until then, you are known as a seeker. Some people however, never get 'touched' by their spirit and remain a seeker til the day they die.
Unfortunately, some people see these Talismans as weapons. An Army of bears, cougars, antelope or crows for spies could be useful. When they, the Hunters as they have been called, see an innocent with a useful Talisman, they track them down, and somehow make them a slave, a mindless slave to do their bidding. No one knows how they do it, do they use a spell? Or maybe a poison? These Hunters will not stop for anything until they have their army to control the world.
There is one weapon they do not have...in a small town called Noatak, in Southern Canada, there lives an ancestor to the first Talisman. For this ancestor, being of the mans blood, still has the power to manipulate the Earth's elements. She is the key to take down the Hunters for good. Her name is Jocelyn and she can control the Earth's elements just like her great-great-great-great-great-grandfather. Luckily for all the other innocents, the Hunters have not discovered her identity. Her parents have given her their task, to crush the Hunters and protect the other innocents and seekers. But she cannot do it alone, will you join her or will you join the Hunters?
Choose wisely, for your spirit depends on it.
