renegade :// colder than my heart, if you can imagine The brute stood frowning in the direction of the setting sun. He'd been walking all day, to find this? He had hoped that by sunset, he'd at least be somewhere worth standing. Apparently, this was not the case. Well, it was still pretty, he would just have to keep going tomorrow. Renegade spent most of his life chasing after places that took is breath away. After all, there wasn't much else he could safely chase after. He didn't want to be the reason another wolf died. Which would happen, by the way, if he ever fell in love again. Why? Stupid gypsy Lydia. She was the reason his family was dead. His mate, his pups, everyone. So now, Renegade spent his time alone, wandering about from pack to pack, place to place... and whenever someone got too close to him? He was gone.
Renegade laid down under the shade of a quiet tree, just thinking. During the peak of Renegade's now immortal life, things had been great. He'd been happily mated to Varali Imani. They had three pups together... it was perfect. Then, as promised, she drowned one day when she was out hunting. Now, Renegade was alone and very afraid to fall in love. The worst part? That damn wolf had cursed him to live forever, too. Can you imagine it? Alone, forever... literally. As his thoughts progressed in a negative manner, Renegade lifted his head, and shook it.
He was an attractive young wolf, considering he was only four years old, and probably wouldn't progress much past it. His shaggy, dark gray pelt was nearly invisible in the dark shade of the tree. Underneath the top of him, there was a lighter gray color, and his legs were long and dark. He was tall, very tall, for a wolf. He stood at 4'2" and weighed only 125 pounds. He was thin, got a problem? His tail was long and shaggy, lying still in the grass behind him. His eyes were crimson, and there was a golden tint to them in the sunlight. His ears were too big, and his hips too narrow, and definitely looked more like a female pup than a grown male while sitting down. After standing up though, it was very easy to tell what he was.
Renegade wasn't as gentle on the inside. Because of what he did (you know, drown his mate and eat his pups...), he's bitter and very rude. Especially to those who're in love. Renegade speaks his mind and half the time is very sarcastic. It's always kind of difficult to keep a straight conversation with him if you're a female, because Renegade doesn't take any chances when it comes to the whole death thing. He was a nice wolf... and sometimes, it's still possible to find that part of him, but it's burried away deep inside of him, and that's a vulnerable place to reach. It would take effort to open up the angry old brute.
So, Renegade stood back up, and stretched. The sun was gone now, leaving him alone in the dark world that he was damned to stay in for the rest of his life. Renegade looked to the sky. Now this was something worth waiting for. The stars blanketed the sky so perfectly. It was definitely something Renegade was glad to be here for. He turned his gaze back to the whole of the empty plains - was someone else here? Before, there had been no one. Now... he wasn't so sure. His eyes flitted in the direction he detected the wolf to be, keeping a calm stance and expression but actually quite annoyed that his night might be intruded upon. After all, Renegade couldn't feel quite so at home when there was another around.

Well, I think I will bring Apollo in and try and get her to reach that lovely part of him. =P
Long slender steps squished against the muddy parts of the ground, it was nearly dark outside. Shadows overstretched the plains in a ghastly manner, the trees looked like they could reach out and grab you at any moment. Their overhanging branches randomly pricked at the back of her neck, occasionally making her jump. Apollo did not like the dark, no matter how well she could see, it really did spook her. She narrowed her eyes as she continued along a narrow trail, now bringing herself to a wide opening. It seemed she had brought herself to the Deserted Plains. These plains had been deserted for many centuries, or so it was said to her.
Once a thriving pack had lived here, but were driven out by a gang of hungry beasts. Anywho, that was the past and this is the present and more important things mattered right now. Apollo took a deep breathe of the night air, it seemed refreshing and not stuffed up by the heat of the sun just a few hours ago. The night was just starting to come alive, the crickets were chirping, the owls were making their usually routine of Hooting and the other lone wolves were howling in the distance. Everything seemed almost perfect, or romantic if your a sucker for love. Alas, Apollo was not a lover, although she had looked once for someone but there really wasn't much luck.
Besides, living in Egypt her whole life really did restrict mate finding. But, Apollo wasn't in Egypt anymore, she had more freedom to find someone to turn to, to be loved, to love them back. She tended to daydream alot, you could say her dreams were rather childish, but who cares? Nobody knew what her dreams were about, they were only concealed in her own mind, under her own protection. Her eyes wandered around the area, maybe she'd find some young attractive wolf gazing under the stars? Yeaah right! what was she thinking? Getting carried away with her fantasies of finding love. She shrugged and pushed the thought away.
Some ghostly figures stood a few meters away from her, she gaped at them starring wide eyed. They must be the ghosts that haunted this place and Pine Trails for that matter. There was always ghosts wandering around Pine Trails and they tended to make their way into the Common lands, which really got annoying after awhile since they scared the 'hibbi-jeebies' out of you every so often. Apollo drew deep breathes as she knew these ghosts were harmful, she even communicated with one at one point....I think. Or maybe it was just a dream? Apollo shook her head and they were gone.
A warm scent filled her nostrils, it was the scent of another wolf, a Male wolf for that matter. Her noise flared at the thought, what would a loner be doing in such a place as this at this time of night? Questions piled into her mind, but it was unfortunate she didn't have the answers for them...for now. As she walked closer the figure of a standing male was clear and in view. Apollo hadn't noticed but the male was closer to her than she thought, really only a few meters awat from him. She wondered what he would do, attack maybe? Greet nicely? or maybe not say a word at all.

you should know, things aren't always what they seem ; Renegade took one step back and cocked his head curiously as the female approached him. The sweet scent that filled his nose was clearly feminine, and now that she was closer the figure was most obviously a wolf. Though... for a moment she did look more feline than anything else. After all... most wolves weren't long-tailed with maws like that. Though, after studying her silently for a moment, he decided that she'd be an interesting wolf to converse with. Clearly, wolves around here would be different. He wasn't planning to attack her.
Instead, Renegade tilted one ear to the side and his tail swished gently back and forth as he thought of a greeting. This was something Renegade was famous for - he always thought about what kind of impression he'd like to make before speaking. Most of the time, it was a rude one. Though, Renegade could find no annoyances about the female... yet. Maybe a simple greeting, that would be fine, he supposed. After all, after this night there would be no contact between them. That's what loners did, they moved on. He meandered from place to place without a home. He had been doing this for a year now, and he didn't plan to settle down any time soon.
Then, another possible dilemma occurred to him. What should happen if she proved herself intellectual? What would he do if, say, he found himself wanting to see her again? No, no. That wouldn't happen. Though, being a true romantic stuck with this terrible fate wasn't exactly happy. Well, that part of him was gone. He was no longer an Imani, he was an Omenheart now. So, without any longer delay, Renegade chose to address her presence. She didn't seem dangerous.
"Good evening." he greeted simply. There, that left things open for conversation if she wanted to converse.

Apollo stopped short in her tracks, the dark shadows seemed to gleam down a prescence of curiosity. The wolf's scent was most powerful, the scent of a mighty brute that is. Her night vision was at nearly perfection now, since her eyes have finally gotten used to it. The male was quite interesting, handsome and did not seem to be threatening in any way towards her. However, that didn't mean she couldn't protect herself. He was largely built, a normal male wolf size that is. He wasn't scrawny, or under fed like some of the other loners she had encountered in the past. He seemed to have a content look on his face, rather pleasent to see since alot of faces she had seen were gloomy or depressing.
She cocked her head slightly as she walked forward a few more paces. She wanted to sit down at a good few feet so she could have a conversation. Apollo glanced around for a second, and sat down. "Good evening" she replied back in a polite tone. Something about this male intrugued her in some way, although she had never had an interest in any particular male before. This one caught her attention and she planned to listen to his story...if he had one that is. "My name is Apollo" she started "What is your name?". Dumbfoundedly, she had nothing else she /could/ say in particular to strike up a nice conversation. Her mind drew a blank.
Her long tail swished behind her contently, eventually wrapping around her front paws tightly. She wondered if he would mention the look of herself, compared to him. Seeing that it was quite obvious that herself was much different looking that this male. Was it her that looked odd? or was it just him, himself. She did not know what a 'normal' wolf looked like since she arrived here. Everybody had something that looked different in her oppinion. Which probably really was a good thing. Apollo now simply gazed out at the darkly lit hills as she waited for a reply.

i'm not one for the crowd to see, it's just me ; At hearing her response, Renegade decided that it would be safe to strike up a conversation. She didn't seem like the type he would go for, anyway. Besides... something about her, this female, Apollo, intrigued him. He wanted to talk to her and learn where she came from. After all, no wolf looked like another, but Apollo had a very foreign look to her... or something along those lines. Renegade had never really considered himself as attractive, or special. He was a boring color, with a little bit of red but how was that great? And sure, he was tall and had muscle, but he was also quite lean and had very narrow hips, almost like a female. Surely, that wasn't attractive... or maybe it was? He wouldn't know, everyone had a different opinion on what was attractive and what wasn't. Oh well.
"Apollo," he stated, trying the name out on his tongue. "I like it... something you don't hear very often." He gave a light, half-smile, and then introduced himself. "My name's Renegade Omenheart." He replied, considering adding something like, 'Nice to meet you,' or whatever was polite, but decided not to. After all, that would be too polite for his likings. Usually, Renegade wasn't actually polite at all. So why was he acting like this now? He wasn't actually sure. For some unknown reason, he wanted to be on Apollo's good side, maybe he wanted to make a friend. He didn't really have any friends. After all, with the precautions he took, he didn't actually have any friends.
Renegade sat back on his back-paws, letting his tail wrap around his legs as he cocked his head back, awaiting a response from this female. Renegade was still trying to figure out what it was about her that was so interesting. Was it the surface, or something deeper? You know, when two wolves' chemistry just click and they end up getting along? He didn't actually know, and already wasn't sure if he was going to stick around long enough to find out. That was something that most didn't like about Renegade. He never really stayed around long enough for anyone to really get to know him. Renegade never opened up about himself, because he hated the sympathy he always got when he did. Though, he did sometimes pity himself... that was beside the point. He was allowed to, wasn't he? After all, being alone your whole life that would last forever had that affect on people.

Apollo simply smiled, and that was all "It is nice to meet you, Renegade" she replied. However, like most brutes they wanted her to nod or give a simple bow to them. She never did, for she knew it was ridiculous to bow to a loner and all they were asking for was some female to come along and follow them around, thinking they were the superior one. It had happened one too many times to her, getting threatened atleast once out of the many refusals she made. Walking away was usually a good choice, but sometimes standing your ground was better. Apollo wasn't very good at defending herself, unliked the other females who would think they are very tough. She seemed to look at herself as a kind hearted soul, she had many friends to count on, however that was all left being in Egypt.
After that, Apollo became a little errogant and stubborn. She refused to talk to anyone but her brother but, after they seperated she /had/ to talk to someone. Finding a pack would be tough, but she did manage and knowing that she apart of one, and being a Hunter for that fact was overwhelming. However, being out of pack lands ment danger. She had left pack lands before, resulting in a good beating when she got home. Scolded for wandering outside of borderlines and chatting with a loner. 'Maybe she should go back now?' she paused her thoughts, thinking about the consequences.
She shook her head, she must have been day dreaming for quite a while. "I am sorry" she said solomnly "I must have lost track of my thoughts" she finished her sentence with a sigh. "Are you new to these lands?" she questioned, well she had to ask something didn't she? Or else this conversation would just end by them walking away akwardly. Besides, it was a boring night out and there was nothing nearly good enough to hunt ot catch. Others were asleep already which made it even worse. Her bordeom always caught up to her, even in the best of situations she got bored easily. And then, getting herself into a heap of trouble because /she/ decided to wander off and do things on her own. But what was the harm now? This loner didn't seem harmful, nor did it seem he was going to growl and attack.
